1. PSYCHOSOCIAL

Life in Nakivale creates a lot of mental drain and refugees are subjected to high levels of stress. RUTNAK through this project conducts de-stressing dialogues within the camp. We create mind relieving dialogues, story sharing and in-depth personal analysis about mental stress and positive mindsets for everyone regardless of age. Our team of hired professionals conducts professional and local self-awareness approaches towards embracing natural attitudes beyond substance application.

This project helps keep youth and adults clear minded from unhealthy lifestyles through
▬ Sports and Games
▬ Out-door nature activities
▬ Team gathering and competitions
▬ Music, dance and drama
▬ Celebration of member birthdays
▬ Counselling and guidance
▬ DIY individual activities
▬ Environmental education
▬ Acting and skit application

These activities help RUTNAK members have a life accepting approach, a broader self-awareness vision and broader acceptance of their environment, community and situation. This project has been more successful towards creating Nakivale refugee self-awareness groups where members offer in-support talks, discussions and guidance to each other.

2. LIVELIHOODS

Our dedicated team recently visited Nakivale Refugee settlement camp under our livelihoods support project. We interacted with mothers whom we help on small business start-ups to discuss how their businesses are coping up in the camp, their personal innovations and different challenges they face. Mama Joyce who has been a refugee for the last 15 years from Congo was so happy to have joined this project last year since it has helped her not only wait for Government refugee Aid, she is able to provide more for her family, put her children to school and also provide healthier diets to her family and the refugee community.

Our team is dedicated with empowering, equipping and training youth and women in various individual and communal activities. Our recent field visit to Nakivale created an in-depth realization and actualization of activities that directly create an innovative approach for them based on factual real life activities within the camp.

Our empowerment activities during our last visit created

▬ An open think tank for thoughts from within the camp to implement towards reality
▬ A more holistic approach within members towards unity for all
